Politicians act strange when the President terminates their occupation from the parliament or as the vice chairman of the Board of Representative. When the President signs the letter of agreement or in Indonesian known as (Penggantian Antar Waktu (PAW) then the officials often feel offended and result in opposing him. As consequences, they disclose the President’s confidential to various institutions in the country. Regardless it is true or not, however, revealing someone’s secret to the public is still consider as disgraceful.
That is how people behave when they adore wealth and job. Loosing something that they truly love will make them panic and try to defend it as possible as they can. Even sometimes in rough way and as a result, they embarrass themselves because the society at the end finds out their negative characters.
O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful (Al-Hujurat 12).
Human does not realize that things they have right now is just “deposit” from Allah swt. When we born we do have nothing and nude. Then Allah swt gives fortune until we become very rich with a high position. One day Allah swt will reclaim His rights, like it or not but He will take it.
And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah . Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help ( An-Nahl 53).
Following is the summary of a story about an ideal wife (Ummu Sulaim) when dealing with adversity taken from Hadist Muslim:
A son of Ummu Sulaim passed away. When her husband, Abu Thalhah came home, she did not tell him about the death of their son. On the other hand, she prepared dinner and ate together with him, later beautified herself then spent some intimate moments with her husband. After that, Ummu said to her husband “Abu Thalhah, what is your opinion if someone lend us their things to our family and later take it back, do we have a right to refuse it?. “No”, her husband answered.
Ummu Sulaim continued, “Abu Thallah, please be patience about your son”. Both of them later told this story to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and he said “May Allah swt bless both of you on that past night”. Because of the Prophet’s prayer, not so long after Ummu Sulaim became pregnant.
The mentioned story reflects the patience of a wife when she has to deal with sorrow of the death of her son. She is certain that everything she owns is merely entrusted goods and temporary belongings from God.
It is to show us that existing things in this world are for us to take the benefits; meanwhile, the owner is only Allah swt.
Loosing wealth, occupation, and all the people we love will definitely happen, but when exactly it will be, it remains as Allah swt’s secret. Behind our loss, there is wisdom and God will present us with something better.
When the Owner take back His rights, it is not appropriate to condemn Him or not willing for the loss. The most proper way is to say: Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raaji’uun which means everything comes from Allah and to Him we will be returned. Therefore, human should not be proud for everything he/she possesses and should not despair from loss. This concept is an effective medicine when we deal with difficult moments in life.
Wallahua’lam (only God knows)
